Online Book Business over 62,000 books
Posted by Fadi Ayat on October 24, 2007
We are getting out of the Used book business. This auction includes over 62,000 books in good to like new condition. Many of these are hardback books. The books are all sorted, and boxed for easy finding when sold. This auction also includes the shelves which hold the books and the database which can be imported into The Art of Books, online book management system.
This is a great way to get into the book business. I’ll even include 5 hours of help getting you setup along with info on our bulk book suppliers, and the gottchas of this business. I’ll help you setup the inventory on ebay, amazon, alibris, abe, and several other book sales sites. This is a great way to not work anymore for the man… We averaged over $6k/month, with a high month of over $15k. These numbers are after the cost of postage… Cash flow numbers neared $25k/month….
I’ll even throw in 2 USB barcode scanners for you to input books quickly.
These books are located in Douglasville, GA (just outside Atlanta) in our warehouses. You’ll need a couple big trucks to get them all. You can also take over the warehouse leases if you would like. I have some local help if you need it to move these books. Shipping is probably prohibitive.
Due to Popular Demand… Here is a link to the inventory listing, including isbn, book name, author, publisher, and quantity.

ATARI Heavy Sixer VCS CX-2600 “Sealed” NIB System 1978!
Posted by Fadi Ayat on October 24, 2007
First off, if this listing looks familiar, it was listed before and unfortunately, due to a non-paying bidder, is being relisted. (Original auction #320134745743) This time, again, this is a NO RESERVE auction! 15% of the highest bid will be donated to the Children of Fallen Soldiers Relief Fund. Please do not bid if you do not intend to pay. Thanks for looking (again, for those of you that looked/bid on it last time!), and GOOD LUCK!
I’m very excited to be able to offer such an amazing item on eBay! Here we have an Original, factory sealed Atari VCS (2600) dated 1978! This is the early (original) 6-switch version (CX-2600) that was soon replaced by a lighter (overseas) 6-switch console and later a 4-switch version. This is a New old stock item, and has never seen the light of day. The console, controllers, game, manuals, and all packaging are MINT inside and have never been touched. This Gem is about to become 30 years old! This is the console that started it all, probably the most famous and sought-after systems ever! The box is in amazing shape for the age. There is light fading and some shelf wear, but overall it displays very well. There is no tape on the box, and no price tag! Both ends are sealed, and the box is unopened. This is such a great find, please see all of the detailed pics below and feel free to email with any questions. Thanks for looking, and Good Luck!
Some history on the Atari VCS 2600: The one that started it all:
CX2600 “Video Computer System” 1978
Atari’s shining star: The Atari 2600 Video Computer System, Model # CX-2600. The Atari 2600 was designed in Grass Valley, California. The Atari 2600 team consisted of Jay Minor, Steve Mayer, Ron Milner and Joe Decuir. The case design was done by Douglas Hardy and Fredrick Thompson. Originally the whole idea around the Atari 2600 was to design a new console system that would have a longer sales life then past Atari game consoles. Originally Atari started out selling home game consoles such as PONG, Super Pong, Stunt Cycle, Video Pinball and others. However their sales life (how long they would sell strong before people grew bored and wanted a new product to come out) was short lived. So the idea around the Atari 2600 was to design a new system that would have a shelf life of up to 2-3 years. Atari had originally planned to sell a total of 10 games for the Atari 2600. The original game boxes used to be marked 01, 02, 03 for the original intention of selling only 10 different games.
Atari included every conceivable form of flexibility into the console. There were seperate difficult switches for both the left and right player, the console had a selection for both Black & White and Color televisions. The game console also came packaged with not only a set of joystick controllers, but also a set of paddle controllers giving the customer the ability to purchase nearly any game they wanted and not have to worry about whether it would work with the console or not.
Another interesting feature about the Atari 2600 were its games. Most games came with dozens of different variations of the game so that customers could try out all different combinations and never grow bored as quickly as simply having one game, one variation to play.
The Atari 2600 took on a life of its own when Atari introduced the first home licensed version of Space Invaders. People couldn’t get enough. Thats when Atari realized it could cash in on licensing exclusive rights to sell home versions of the most popular arcade games. Games such as Space Invaders, Missle Command, Asteroids, and Defender sent sales sky-rocketing because of the close conversion down to the Atari 2600’s graphics capabilities. However it was games like Pac Man that Atari produced that were its downfall. The Atari 2600 version of Pac Man was written by Todd Fry who, although he was talented Atari 2600 programmer did not like Pac Man and did a sloppy half-effort of porting the game to the Atari 2600. Also he received a 1 Million dollar check for his work which he stapled a photocopy of it to his office door for all to see. Todd also worked on the Atari Swordquest series and also was putting the finishing touches on an Atari 2600 version of Xevious (a feat of masterful programming since the game was so complex) when Atari was sold, 2600 Xevious was never finished or released.
The Atari 2600 also saw a flood of cheaply made games from dozens of third party companies looking for an easy and quick “in” to capitalize on the video game craze. This flood of low quality titles cause a flood of unwanted and overproduced cartridges which noone wanted. In the past people would buy a cartridge without question, now they were reading game reviews and only buying the best rated titles. Suddenly bargain basement sales of cartridges were being held. People assumed that the “VIDEOGAME FAD” was ending and sales of consoles and accessories began to slump. Terrified corporate executives with no real knowledge of this new field pannicked, funds were pulled, company’s began to fold overnight, hundreds of announced games and products suddenly disappeared never to be heard of again. Atari felt this huge shake-up right up to its parent company Warner Communications. The Great Video Game Crash had happened and in its wake it left many companies in bankruptcy, others looking to PC’s gamming for revenue and Atari limping into the sunset, its image and ego badly hurt, but unlike other companies it lived on for quite sometime and so did the Atari 2600, in fact the Atari 2600 was replaced in 1986 by a newer, more modern replacement called the Atari 2600 jr.
Even though consoles such as the Sony Playstation, the new Sega Dreamcast and even older discontinued systems like the Atari Jaguar 64 have power that is 100’s of time greater then the Atari 2600. The little VCS that could, even though its discontinued is still going and is still the worlds most popular Video Game System.

** Some More Information and History **
What is the History of this amazing find? This was purchased recently from an estate sale in San Jose. I am told that this was a warehouse overstock item, hence the “new old stock” status and the lack of any price tags or mailing labels; the box is clean. The owner purchased this with a number of other items in the mid-80s with the intention of reselling them, but they instead were placed in storage where they remained until now! I actually was lucky enough to acquire two of these, the other I am keeping for my own collection (same great condition!).
How do you know that it is Factory-Sealed? This is factory sealed with the original factory glue. In the pictures, you can see that one side the flaps bow out a bit and there is a crease. I believe this to be the result of someone (not me) trying to look inside the box without breaking the seal. Because of this, however, it makes it very easy to see that it is, in fact, the factory glue that holds this flap closed, as it was lifted a bit (but is still secure and sealed). I will try and see if I can get a good picture of this to add to the listing.
How was it identified as a true original Atari “Heavy Sixer”? Although this has a manufacture date of 1978, the first Ataris were released in late (October) of 1977, and they were manufactured in Sunnyvale for the first year, so there were indeed heavy sixers produced in early-to-mid 1978. The lack of a serial number sticker on the outside of the box is another strong clue, since the serial number stickers were something that were added after production was moved off-shore. The final indicator is the weight of the item… the overall weight of this item is 9 lbs. 8 oz. A recent “light sixer” listed on eBay (identified as a light sixer by the serial number, on the box) was weighed at 8 pounds 1 ounce. (link) This verifies the “Heavy Sixer” status, since it should also account for the additional weight of the original “spring loaded” Sunnyvale controllers!
If you have any additional questions, please feel free to ask! Thanks, and Good Luck!

1957 Chev Jukebox Couch – UNBELIEVIBLE one of a kind
Posted by Fadi Ayat on October 21, 2007
Beautiful 1957 Chev Car Sofa & Jukebox
Ideal for gameroom decor or restaurant decor. This is an amazing, handcrafted ‘57 Chev full size sofa in red and white. The Jukebox currently plays records, but can easily be converted into CD, ipod, etc thru the inputs and/or a CD conversion kit. The tail lights all work. It has been in storage for 3 years, so the Jukebox needs some cleaning up and general maintenance to get it back to 100%. My Jukebox guy recommended a “general maintenance package” and estimated it at $200. I can hook you up with them if you don’t have a Jukebox repair in your area. The speakers are ok, but I would put on new ones as these are original and it would sound MUCH better with modern speakers.
Now you can bring back the fun of the 50’s and 60’s with one of our hand crafted car couches. Just imagine having a copy of that favorite Chev that sits in your garage, sitting in your living room. Amazing fins with tail lights that are actually functional, just turn on the switch. Beautiful paint job!Great for the gameroom, den, office, or any special event decor.
Note the picture of the controls that flips open on one of the fins. This control turns the lights on and off, controls the volume and has a control to sound the siren. VERY cool!! I am also tossing in about 40 records that will go with the item. From the classic Elvis Presley to the modern Janet Jackson.

BO NORDH NAUTILUS ” NEW & UNSMOKED ” AS GOOD AS IT GETS
Posted by Fadi Ayat on October 21, 2007
HIS IS A (10) TEN-DAY (10), NO RESERVE, AND INTERNATIONAL COLLECTABLE BRIAR PIPE AUCTION.
This very pipe offering is the strongest that I have listed this year. This auction represents both a very rare and extremely special opportunity to own and enjoy one of the finest ultra high grade hand made briar pipes that has ever been crafted, by the universally acknowledged best pipe maker of all time, Mr. Bo Nordh.
PLEASE CLICK HERE TO VIEW ALL OF THE OTHER BEAUTIFUL, NEW, OR FULLY RESTORED AND RECONDITIONED HIGH GRADE COLLECTABLE PIPES THAT I HAVE LISTED FOR AUCTION THIS WEEK ON EBAY!
Some personal Musings:
Two year ago, I became good friends with Bo Nordh. The friendship developed when he finally got a computer and we started to correspond on a virtual daily basis exchanging jokes, muses, some common interests (especially music!) and pipe information. He would follow my auctions, as he was very curious how many various high grade carvers pipes would do on a no reserve auction format. He also respected my work, as I respected his. After reading a description that I had written about him in one of his pipe auctions, he sent me an e-mail complimenting me on the description that I gave of him. He said, “Thank you for writing my obituary!” Such was his sense of humor! It is still a note that reverberates in my head, as Bo had no idea that he was not going to be around within the year of that e-mail. In May of 2006, we shared a private lunch together in Chicago. Before lunch he gave me a copy of a photo CD disk that he had put together as part of a presentation that he was giving at the Chicago Pipe Club Show. He wanted me to have the disk as he knew that at one time I collected his pipes, and he also thought that if I have the occasion to sell any of his pipes on eBay, that the winning bidder should have a copy of the disk to help further his appreciation for Bo’s incredible work.
It is at once with sadness at his loss, but with posthumous joy that I can fulfill his wishes that whenever I sell one of his pipes on eBay the winning bidder will receive a copy of the photo disk with about 160 photographs of his pipes that Bo has taken over the years. The winning bidder of this auction will receive a copy of the disk. I have included a few pictures at the end of this listing that are representative of the photographs that are on the disk. Please do not ask me for a copy of this disk. It is only available to the auction winner.
I miss Bo terribly. I miss his jokes, and his daily musings. The pipe world lost the best briar carver who ever lived. He was top tier. The best of the best. There has never been anyone who could come even close. Bo was also a gentleman with an appreciation for life and nature. I know that I am not alone in the tremendous sense of loss that I feel. The pipe world is just not the same without him.
About this beautiful and special Bo Nordh pipe:
You are bidding on an UNSMOKED & BRAND NEW CONDITION amazing cross grain “Nautilus” shaped pipe that Bo Nordh had carved in 2004. This pipe is one of Bo’s signature shapes. Bo’s signature shaped pipes, such as the “Nautilus”, “Ramses”, “Elephant’s Foot”, “Ballerina”, and “Oliphant Horn” are among his most famous and most valuable shapes. These are the pipes that helped to make Bo Nordh the legend that he was and still is. Naturally, there are his priciest pipes, and in unsmoked condition, even pricier, as in their original and unsmoked condition are as rare and as desirable as any briar pipes on the planet. To have the opportunity to possess an unsmoked Bo Nordh “signature” shaped pipe is an opportunity of a lifetime. This is an investment grade pipe, as there simply are no more. This is your chance to have the pride of ownership of that comes with owning the best of the best that is also no longer attainable. This is like owning an original Monet or Van Gogh oil painting. This is an opportunity that cannot and will not be repeated.I believe that this “Nautilus” shaped pipe was the very last of this wonderful shape to ever be carved by Bo Nordh. Not that he ever crafted many of them. I believe that less than ten of this special shape were ever carved over Bo’s lifetime. .
Bo Nordh was considered by most knowledgeable pipe collectors and smokers as the finest pipe carver and artist who ever lived. His reputation was and still is exemplary. His work was legendary. Yes, Bo Nordh was and is a legend! Bo had been carving pipes, out of his wheelchair, for about thirty years. In his prime, he would carve thirty pipes a year. His attention to detail, from the selection of the finest aged briar, vulcanite, and other natural materials available in the world, to the unbelievable amount of time he spent crafting each pipe was simply, second to none. Do the arithmetic and you will find that it took Bo about 100 hours to turn these finest of raw materials into a treasured work of art. It’s hard to imagine in these times of mass production that kind of highly skilled labor and pure attention to detail. Details of the carving – getting the most beauty from a block of prime, old, and twenty-year naturally aged and air dried straight grained briar burl, the flow of the bowl into the stem, the perfect alignment of the draft hole on both the stem and the shank of the pipe, the perfect centering of the tobacco chamber, the perfect interior dimensions of the tobacco chamber, the perfect cut and shaping of the hand cut stem and lip, the perfect glass like finish of the bowl and the perfect staining of the bowl. One hundred hours.
The most striking aspect of a Bo Nordh pipe is that it has been so extremely well executed that it needs nothing. There is not a singular detail about his pipes that needs either improvement or correction. They are truly highly finished “jewels.” Bo Nordh pipes are at the ultimate pinnacle of pipe collecting. They are the Acme, the Zenith, and the Apex of what our hobby represents and is all about. To own a Bo Nordh pipe is to own the absolute very best briar smoking instrument that mankind has ever carved. There is a joy that comes with owing a Nordh that goes way beyond the wonderful smoking qualities that his pipes possess. It is a joy that comes with owning the very finest briar artwork that has ever been created. Bo Nord’s very first pipe is in a museum. Several collectors of his spectacular pipes have never even smoked them. They are either securely locked away in their fireproof safes, or on display as fine art.
As you already know, Bo had passed away last summer at the age of 65. These already scarce and extremely rare, eminently collectable, and highly desirable pipes have become absolutely impossible to obtain. To own a Bo Nordh pipe is to own a continually appreciating investment that can either be passed down over the generations as an heirloom, or to be sold to another appreciative collector in the future. There will always be a market for the very best in the world, especially when there is no more of it being created!
The shape of this pipe is exquisite. Elegance and grace personified! Have you ever noticed how a professional athlete or musician makes their efforts seem so very easy when they are performing? This pipe is an example of that ease. While it looks easy to do (carve), in reality the execution (of the carving) is extremely difficult!
This gorgeous cross grained and artistically sculpted pipe has had only one owner. It has never seen a flame. The lucky winner of this auction will have that distinguished honor and pleasure. However, I think that the winner of this auction will want to admire this work of art for a good long time before they fire it up, after all a pipe like this is not just another pipe to smoke! It is an investment in beauty, in art, and in appreciating the very, very, best of man’s capabilities.
Here are the dimensions: The overall length measures 5.875”. The bowl height measures 2.25” The tobacco chamber is 0.825” in diameter and tapers down the bowl’s 1.75” inner depth. Capacity is similar to a Group 5 size Dunhill. This pipe weighs 72 grams. The black pipe bag is included.
Due to the very special nature of this pipe, I am breaking ranks with my usual 1 cent starting bid price and am starting the bid at a very realistic $9,975.00 which is thousands of dollars less that the current market value of this treasured work of briar art. Do not expect to win this auction at that opening bid price. There will be bidding competition for this pipe. Should there be no winners of this auction, please do not waste your time getting in touch with me, as this pipe will not be offered a single penny lower than the opening bid price. The opportunity to bid on and win this pipe is truly “Once in a lifetime!” Remember the bonus disc with 160 Bo Nordh pipe pictures is included as a bonus! This disc will be mailed to the winning bidder under separate cover from the pipe.
PLEASE DO NOT MISS THIS ONCE IN A LIFETIME OPPORTUNITY!!!
I am running this as a “Private Auction” so that you can bid on this pipe without worrying about stepping over your fellow pipe collector friend’s bid, as well as keeping the winning bidder’s name private. A pipe like this deserves some discretion. I know that there will be some serious interest in this pipe! I will send an e-mail to the winning bidder, showing all of the bidding action at the close of this auction. I want you to bid with the highest of confidence and know that the winning bidder will get to see the list of the other bidders.
Once again, this is a TEN DAY no reserve pipe auction. I do not believe in “Reserve” or “Buy it Now” prices. Just be the high bidder at the close of this auction, and you will win what will prove to be the best pipe in your collection and one of the very best in the world! Please read and review my eBay ratings and comments. Check out the “ME” section after my eBay name “coopersark”. I think that you will find this information very informative and telling! Please feel free to send me an e-mail with any questions that you may have about this pipe. I want you to bid with the highest of confidence! The winning bidder will pay by Pay Pal, money order, or cashiers check and will include an additional $50.00 for Registered and fully Insured Return Receipt Requested Air Mail shipping, tracking, and insurance. This is the safest and most secure way for this pipe to travel.(Foreign bidders will remit payment by Pay Pal ONLY and will include an additional $200.00 for UPS RED LABEL EXPRESS shipping. Please keep in mind that this pipe is going to be insured for the full amount of the final closing auction price. You may have to pay duty. I will not make exception; this pipe is going to be shipped fully inured with its full value stated.) Thank you for your interest. Please do not forget to check out my other auctions! Good Luck and Happy Bidding!!!
